Quick Tips!

Did you know that according to the U.S. Small Business Administration, 21% of businesses post on social media once a month or less? Using social media is an important way to market your business, which can help you:

  1. Establish Your Brand. Help your customers get to know you and the heart and values of your business
  2. Reach new customers. This can be done through paid advertising online, but also through word of mouth for free! When you are online, your loyal customers will talk about you and share your business posts with others, which has the potential to reach many people. There are lots of ways to gain new customers online.
  3. Gain a reputation for top-notch customer service. In the digital age, rather than picking up a phone to ask a question or lodge a complaint, consumers will often take to social media. Whether a customer is reaching out via a private message or a public review, it’s important to respond in a timely, polite manner. Doing so can help you gain customer loyalty.
  4. Communicate important information quickly. In addition to sending email updates about upcoming sales or new products to your customers, you can also notify them through social media using engaging photos or videos. Your social media accounts are also an important way to rapidly share business updates with customers during disasters and emergencies.

THREE LEVELS OF SOCIAL MEDIA GROWTH

LEVEL 1: Don’t have any social media accounts for your business?

  • We recommend going with Instagram and Facebook to start with. Don’t try to add too many new platforms at once or it can become overwhelming! Consistency is key, so only have as many accounts as you can regularly make posts on.

LEVEL 2: Have some social media accounts set up but don’t use them consistently?

  • Consider using a social media post scheduling service! Planoly is a great one to check out. (Other companies you could check out are: HootSuite, SproutSocial, Buffer, etc.)

LEVEL 3: Consistently use your accounts but would love to grow them further?
